I cute a lot of extra flowers and leaves when I did that first card so I kept them and have used them on this card as well.... and I've made another card using the flowers that you'll see at some point...

I have been wanting some balloon dies for making cards and was super excited to see a great big set by Lawn Fawn in the Scrap 'n Stamp store! I will definitely be using these dies more! I love that the set comes with three teeny dies to create the little reflective spot on each balloon.

Hello friends... I'm back with another post for Scrap 'n Stamp Canada. Since the pandemic started, we've been encouraging people to make and send cards to family and friends... and to help with the creativity, we have a different idea for each day. Today, the word is SQUARE. My first thought was to make a square card, but then I thought about all of that patterned paper I own and I decided to put together a card with squares!
Hi Everyone! I'm trying hard to find a rhythm to posting on my blog. With working full time and trying to do things other than make cards (TV, reading, crochet, games with my family) I certainly don't have enough cards to be able to post daily. There are some days that are dictated since I'm on a handful of design teams... but that alone isn't enough. I spent some time on the weekend putting together my February calendar of posts.
Or maybe I need to spend a few days creating my heart out to create a surplus of cards so I can post daily. We can dream, but it ain't going to happen LOL!
Here I am, playing with patterned paper again... I'm trying *really* hard to use what I have.... and I may or may not have recently gotten more! I love patterned paper, but I don't use it very often! You'll see me playing with it more because I really truly am trying!

I've been wanting to try the shadow stamping technique for a while and finally got around to doing it... and I think I'll have to do it again! I could have used black ink for the second stamping of the image but I chose a dark blue instead. Thoughts?
I posted my design team card for the Addicted to CAS challenge and told you that I had made two cards (see my first one here)... so I'm back today with card #2. You still have a few days to upload your clean and simple SNOW themed card!
I had fun putting this card together for you today.... I am on the Scrap 'n Stamp Canada blog with this card, following along with the Random Acts of Cardness prompt for today. That prompt word is LAYERS. And I went a little nuts with the layers. Including the mats under each layer, there are 8 layers plus the card front! Using a 6X6 patterned paper pack from My Favorite Things made it super easy to choose the papers for my layers.
At the end of the post I have a little surprise for you too! I did a VIDEO to demonstrate how to use the We R Memory Keepers Layers Guides that I LOVE! Most people don't understand the concept of these tools and I LOVE them and use them on almost every card I made. I hope the video explains things for you.
But first, the card I created... it's so totally not my clean and simple style but I sure do love it!
And now, on to the video... please be kind as it's my first... and I have no idea how to edit a video (nor the time I think it would take to not only learn how but also to just do it) so this was all done in one take, mistakes and all LOL! If you have any questions about the Layers Guides, let me know and I'll try to help! These are truly the tool I reach for most on my craft desk!
Yup, I wrecked it. This card started out with great promise with that great patterned paper cut on the diagonal with a black mat along the top edge.... and then I went and ruined it all by stamping on the cardstock. I thought it would work out, but instead, as soon as I stamped it, I was disappointed.

Well kids... we are finally at the end of the Christmas cards I created in 2020. I had this embossed background sitting on my desk... I had created it for another card and then decided to not use it. This card came together pretty quickly, without a plan in mind... and I think it might honestly make my top 10 favourite Christmas cards of 2020! Sadly, I didn't get a record of what items I used on this card... I believe it's a Darice embossing folder, Stampin' Up! Cherry cobbler paper and a stamp by Kraftin' Kimmie along with a piece of ribbon from my stash.
I hope you've enjoyed the Christmas cards I created this year as much as I enjoyed creating them all. I have tucked my Christmas card making supplies in to a corner and will probably pull them out from time to time to see what else I can create... but I'll be back sometime in the fall with more Christmas card ideas.

Happy New Year, Craft Friends!!! I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season, despite restrictions and whatever else might be going on in your part of the world. 2021 will start the same as 2020 left off, but I think we are all hopeful for how the year will play out.
All I know for sure is that I plan on being crafty! Maybe not as much as in 2020, but as much as I can! I look forward to going to crops again, crafting with friends... I've really missed that. Zoom craft days are OK but never quite the same as being in the same room.

We have all been playing with the Slimline Die System from Picket Fence Studios. I have made slimline cards in the past, I'm talking many years ago, but they aren't always my favourite to create. The idea of them has taken off in the last several months and many of the big companies have come out with products that make the process (and measurements) a little easier. I will definitely try to make some more now that I have this great die set!

In my internet travels this fall, I found a card that was similar to this.... and since I am on a kick to use up some of my Christmas patterned paper, I decided to try it out. I'm not sure my card was as successful as the original, but I still like it.
I saw a card like this on my internet travels and knew I wanted to try the idea of the black panel with the sparkly lights. I embossed the string of lights stamps with gold embossing powder before adding dies of the lights cut out of glitter paper.
Do you want to know what I hate most about blogging? It's coming up with titles for the posts. I used to just number my Christmas cards as post names over the years but this year I've been naming them all. I hate naming my posts. Maybe in the New Year I'll just make the title the date of the post.
Anyway... it's been exciting to me over the last few years that the different companies have come out with some wonderful Christmas light dies, punches and images. Christmas lights are one of my favourite parts of Christmas.
