As I am writing this post (a few days early since this will post while I'm at work), cupcakes are sitting on the cooling rack in my kitchen. My coworker is celebrating a birthday this weekend and I will be bringing her cupcakes at the office... and since I'll be at work until 8pm tonightI figured I'd make them the day before. They sure do smell good!
I made this card using scraps on my desk.... I think that the stamps and dies are Picket Fence, the patterned paper is my My Favorite Things.... no idea what colours of paper I used though :-)Saturday, February 20, 2021

*Layers Layers Layers*
I had fun putting this card together for you today.... I am on the Scrap 'n Stamp Canada blog with this card, following along with the Random Acts of Cardness prompt for today. That prompt word is LAYERS. And I went a little nuts with the layers. Including the mats under each layer, there are 8 layers plus the card front! Using a 6X6 patterned paper pack from My Favorite Things made it super easy to choose the papers for my layers.
At the end of the post I have a little surprise for you too! I did a VIDEO to demonstrate how to use the We R Memory Keepers Layers Guides that I LOVE! Most people don't understand the concept of these tools and I LOVE them and use them on almost every card I made. I hope the video explains things for you.
But first, the card I created... it's so totally not my clean and simple style but I sure do love it!
Items Used:And now, on to the video... please be kind as it's my first... and I have no idea how to edit a video (nor the time I think it would take to not only learn how but also to just do it) so this was all done in one take, mistakes and all LOL! If you have any questions about the Layers Guides, let me know and I'll try to help! These are truly the tool I reach for most on my craft desk!

*Addicted to CAS #189*
It's time for another clean and simple challenge with the design team at Addicted to CAS! Ceal has chosen the prompt for challenge #189.... and for the next two weeks, we want to see your cards using the prompt of SNOW...
I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with snowflake or snowman so I honestly made two cards and am posting my favourite of the two today... the other will show up later in the month.
I decided to go *super* clean and simple with this card.... I'm not sure how I feel about it being a birthday card. I might change out the sentiment and save it to send out next year as a Christmas card.*Cardstock: Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb; silver glitter paper
Be sure to link up your Clean and Simple SNOW card for your chance to be chosen to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge! And take some time to see what the rest of the design team has come up with... we all have different ideas and styles!

*Dark Christmas Lights*
I saw a card like this on my internet travels and knew I wanted to try the idea of the black panel with the sparkly lights. I embossed the string of lights stamps with gold embossing powder before adding dies of the lights cut out of glitter paper.
Items Used:*Cardstock: Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb; Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black; gold

*Magical*
I hope you don't mind but I'm not done sharing Christmas cards yet... I have about another 7-10 days worth for you. I LOVE making Christmas cards.... and made about 80 different designs this year. I put away my Christmas card making supplies on December 14th when I made a couple of last cards... an idea I had in my head. Not to mention I received a couple of cards from people I wasn't expecting them from so I had to make a few more and pop them in the mail real quick :-)

*Merry Christmas!*
Just a quick post from me today as I am spending the day in my jammies, watching movies and playing games with the family. We had fun opening presents this morning and just finished off a wonderful Christmas brunch. We will have some toasted turkey sandwiches for supper later. A quiet day, enjoying our time as a family. I am a lucky woman!

*Star Ornament*
This card was created using some scraps that were sitting on my desk. With things like my glitter cardstock, I don't want to waste anything. It's not like I can't get more, it's just so dang pretty! The only thing on the front of this card that wasn't a scrap was the red bow die cut. Everything else was already cut and ready to go.

*Joy on Grey*
This card looks even better than I imagined it might... I had no idea how much I'd love using grey in a Christmas card! The silver, white and red are the perfect highlights on this card!
Items Used:*Cardstock; Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb; Stampin' Up! Basic Grey; silver sparkle

*Little Birthday Balloons*
My Favorite Things comes up with some of my favourite 6X6 patterned paper pads. I love buying the 6X6 size for making cards as the patterns are scaled for the size rather than trying to use a large pattern from 12X12 cardstock on my cards. Of course, I do still buy some 12X12 paper but it often sits without being used because the scale of the images is just too much.
This went together really quickly... patterned paper, my Perfect Layers tool to get that little 1/16" border of black at the top, stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn.Monday, August 31, 2020
*Save Me a Piece of Cake*
I think I liked this card more before I added the sentiment to it. First, the sentiment strip looks like it's a different shade of white (even though it was the same cardstock I used on the card), and honestly, it just doesn't quite fit. But I glued it down and was stuck with it.
I think this it still an OK card, just not quite "right".

*Stencilled Birthday*
A few years ago, I wasn't at all interested in stencils... and suddenly I have more than a dozen. I have no idea what changed my mind about them. But I really like ink blending on them as well as using them with the Glimmer Paste. For this card, I did both.
